FAQ
Note:
UX stands for "user experience".
Why are there two Feedback & Action platforms?
As the Feedback & Action initiative developed, it became clear that:
- broader issues, often with an interdisciplinary and global scope, and
- UX-related observations involving specific products, services, and processes
serve different purposes and audiences.
Keeping them on separate platforms allows each to maintain a clearer focus and scope for its respective audience — the main platform can retain its broader think-tank character, while “micro” can focus more closely on practical, application-oriented improvements.
What exactly is Feedback & Action “micro”?
It is the practical UX-focused platform of the Feedback & Action initiative. It identifies real-world user-experience issues and opportunities, and proposes practical improvements.
Is “micro” only about software and websites?
No.
Although many posts involve digital experiences, the scope also includes physical products, public services, transportation, customer-service processes, signage, communication systems, workflows, and other situations in which the user experience can be improved.
What happens after something is published?
Publication is not necessarily the end of the process. Depending on the case, a post may simply remain as a documented observation, generate discussion or dissemination, lead to contact with relevant parties, or eventually contribute to a resolution or improvement.
Can providers respond to a post?
Yes. Feedback & Action “micro” welcomes constructive responses and additional perspectives from providers, users, and other relevant parties. A provider's response can itself become a valuable part of the feedback loop.
Isn't feedback something users should simply send directly to the company?
Sometimes, yes.
But there are situations where feedback disappears, communication channels are ineffective, the appropriate party is unclear, several entities may be involved, or the same issue could apply to many comparable services.
Also, a solution that is useful for one brand may be useful for an entire sector.
Sharing an observation publicly can therefore contribute to broader improvement rather than leaving the idea inside a single company's feedback channel.
Why publish a minor issue instead of contacting the provider privately?
For two main reasons:
- Some feedback channels don't provide a meaningful route toward resolution.
- The same issue-and-solution pair may be applicable to similar or comparable services offered by other providers — publicly sharing the observation can therefore contribute to improvement beyond one particular service.
And for the other reasons explored on the Justification page...
Is this a complaint platform?
No.
The project's strength is observation, analysis, evaluation, and improvement recommendations.
A negative experience may be the starting point, but the objective is constructive action.
Are the cases real?
Of course.
The platform is intended to be based on real human experience, real observations, and real cases.
We do not invent experiences or manufacture certainty.
Are you experts in every technology or product you discuss?
Not always — we don't need to be.
The platform aims primarily to reflect what users encounter or need.
A useful UX observation does not necessarily require us to be the developers of the underlying technology. Where specialist expertise is necessary, the initiative can benefit from contributors with relevant subject-matter knowledge.
Who writes the posts?
Posts may be written by Mehmet Caputcu or other individual contributors, under their real names or the shared editorial alias Dorian Auxis — depending on the nature of the topic and contribution.
See Editorial Identity.
Can I submit an idea?
Yes.
To share an observation, suggestion, question, or possible topic, you can use the Contact form in the menu at the top left.
Is Feedback & Action affiliated with the companies mentioned?
No.
Mentioning, reviewing, or suggesting an improvement for a company, brand, product, or service does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by that entity.
Is everything on the platform already resolved?
No.
Some observations are simply documented suggestions. Others may eventually be brought to the attention of relevant providers or communities.
The initiative is still developing its processes for following up on issues and potential resolutions.
